TEN YEAR FINAL.png

Book and Lyrics by Wesley King and Jacob Heinz
Music by Wesley King

Ten Year is King and Heinz’s first musical they have written together (or written at all, for that matter). Ten Year is a queer musical centered around the life of Sam. Sam is stuck in the past. He’s worked the same job, lived in the same house, even ordered the same coffee for what feels like forever now. This weekend is not only his ten year high school reunion, but also his one chance to get answers and see if the first love he’s held onto for a decade could be rekindled.

Jacob and Wesley wanted to write a slice-of-life story that wasn't centered around the topic of coming out but rather one that normalizes seeing a queer character on stage facing challenges and emotions just like everyone else.

King and Heinz presented a full-stage production June 2-4, 2022 at the Darkhorse Theater in Nashville.
